Abstract

Banking nowadays is a vital sub-structure in chain of economies; Banks  provide customers with many financial services but as a unwritten but pervasive crisis, lack of innovation in financial services and products became a permanent problem of newly-entered banks, as well as established ones; also some bank missions specially in 3rd world that inflation rate is high- were neglected due to reversing tasks of banks and related firms, like direct factory management by banks! One of the new and highly accepted and fast growing studies, is Business Model, that clarifies business logic and operations and result in how businesses earn money. In this paper, Bank Tejarat as an Iranian newly changed to private mode bank, was compared with HSBC as a globally known one, on the basis of Osterwalder ontology that is a famous road-map tool for comparing two or more businesses via a same strategic macro scale. By taking a qualitative approach, structures of Customers and Infrastructure were compared in these two Banks. Chi-square test method was used and the results of research show that the structure of customers and the structure of infrastructure are different. Analysis of results shows that the difference of customers is related to closed cycle of market structure in Iran that force companies to copy each others’ economic behaviors and then no activity of any foreign rivals and also old methods of governance. The difference of infrastructure is due to the basis of these two companies, e.g. really private-basics of HSBC, tendency to creativity and innovation, and more developed representative network, vice versa for Tejarat, apparently private mode operations, traditional governance methods and closed customers rivals group.
